Mr. Macie practices Acupuncture and Herbalism at IHA since October, 2000, following in the footsteps of Lloyd Wright, who practiced here from 1990 to 2000, and was a founding member of IHA.

His practice addresses clients needs in the areas of:

-- pain reduction and management, acute/recent or chronic
-- enhancement of post-surgical recovery; side-effect management complementary to other medical therapies
-- sports injuries, auto accident and repetitive stress/work related injuries (RSI), and other musculo-skeletal problems
-- seasonal issues such as colds & flues, bronchitis, allergies
-- stress disorders and related areas such as insomnia and depression
-- digestive problems, GERD (acid reflux), colitis, IBS
-- conditioning for travel, jet-lag (time-zone change), diet & digestive adaptation
-- PMS, peri-menopausal issues
-- diagnosis and conditioning to promote optimal overall health

Mr. Macie emphasizes working with the client to gain a fuller awareness of his/her constitutional and life-style related strengths and vulnerabilities. Many injuries and other health challenges often reflect underlying vulnerabilities in addition to the specific causes which actually trigger the symptoms and often motivate one to seek help. Dealing with such vulnerabilities or susceptibilities, as well as the symptoms themselves, can reinforce the healing process and help prevent recurrences.

Diagnostic analysis of areas of strength in the client's health profile is another part of this style of treatment, and is used in finding improved overall balance among strengths and weaknesses to help one not only avoid problems, but reach more productive and rewarding levels of performance in the activities of living.
