Mary Hammes, MA, MFT
Individual, Couples, and Family Counseling
|
In my seven years as a counselor, I have worked in settings such as public schools, community agencies, and private practice. My area of specialty is working with adolescents and families. In my work with clients, I focus on growth and possibilities rather than pathology. I emphasize the integration of mind, body, and spirit and assist clients to increase awareness of the physical and emotional experience in the here-and-now. My techniques include talk therapy, play therapy, and the use of art and movement.
My training includes a Bachelor of Science degree from UC Davis and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. I am licensed by the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist. My post-graduate studies include training in the Gestalt and Satir Growth models of therapy. I am trained in Mediation and serve as a volunteer mediator for Santa Clara County, facilitating parent-teen mediations.
